Course Reflection

From the past few days,I learned a lot in this class so I want to make a reflection about what I learned.Before this class, I didn’t get good command of online software.But through there days’ learning,I got familiar with them gradually and I know the importance of the team working.

Among the tools we used these days, the three tools I like most and will surely use them in my future teaching are classdojo,padlet and wenjuanxing.Because I like the styles of them and I think they are very useful and easy to use.The three tools I may not use are rubistar,testmoz.com and iMovie since I think it is a little difficult for us to use.

The three things helped me understand the course content and learn better during my group work is the team,explanation of teacher and my exploration.The other three things that I felt should be avoided or improved is my patience, concentration and English spelling.

In this class, I think my strong point is my understanding to the course so I can integrate some knowledge into the course. My weak point is that sometimes my understanding to the class is  not enough so I need enhance my comprehensive ability.My future learning goal is that I can grasp more strong knowledge and invest more effort into my study.When I am a teacher,I can incorporate these into my work and lead my students better.

Day 7

Online Questionnaire, Worksheet, and Quizzes

Today we were asked to create a quiz to assess our learning outcomes and we used several tools to help us like rubistar, wenjuanxing, and testmoz.Testmoz.com can create quiz online for freeand have four types of questions we can use. I think it is easy forus to create a quiz and share it online or print it on hard copies.

Wenjuanxing is a professional platform for the online questionnaire survey,evaluation,voting, focused on providing users with powerful,humanizied design online questionnaires .I think it is very quick and easy to use and can be accepted by a large number of enterprises and individuals.From the functions of wenjuanxing,we used the screening function that  we could delate the invalid questionnaire when we found.

In the classroom teaching, we can use these tools to communicate with our students and their parents to learn more about the situations and directions about them and collect more information then we can make appropriate adjustment.We can try more kinds of questionaire that can collect more comprehensive information.

From the ISTE Standards,the project met that design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.We can get a lot of useful information and learning experience by using these tools to create more.

Day 6

Video Editing

Today we talked about what digital story is and each student was asked to make a video to talk about what you have learned from it.And we were asked to record our reflection on learning experiences and edit the video with a title and credit.

Digital story-telling is the modern expression of the ancient art of storytelling and it uses digital media to create stories to tell and to share.Teachers can use this tool in the classroom to tell a story which can be improvisational.We use the Quik and iMovie APP when we edited our video and it is easy to use them because we have used them in other courses last term.

Using video in the class can cultivate the ability on active learning of students and  I suggested that videos should be made in different paces since each student has different study ability.

In the ISTE standard,the projects met that we promoted and modeled digital etiquette and resposible social interactions related to the use of technology and information since we can learn more about our projects and make more interactions with others.

1.Quik is an app to take pictures,videos and edit which can apply on smart phones and computers.

 

 

2.iMovie is a video editing software to make pictures and videos into films which can apply on iOS and MacOS.

 

 

Day 5

Audio Editing

Today we were ask to create a audio file to teach the content in the lessson plan. The audio project we created  should meet one or two objectives listed in the lesson plan. And we can use any tools in the audio,then save it in MP3 format, upload to pan.baidu.com,finally share the audio to everyone with the link.

My theme of the audio is the language development in geography and  I read some own experience and the background of language development. The audio file should be linked to the end of reflection.

Video Creation

We were also asked to create a video to teach the content which should have a cover, a few still image, a video clip, and a credit slide.  At the end,we should upload the video to youku.com and embed the video to our course site.In the process of uploading the video,I didn’t upload the video to youku.com instead of upload it to  pan.baidu.com. So I wasted some time to correct.

Day 4

Website Design

Toady we had a course about designing a website and make the web page with our item. Web page is one part of the website.Words and pictures are the important elements of making a web page and it has other elements. So web page is different from doc page. Web page can mark  something you want and you can get the resouces you want at everywhere since web page is connected with the Internet.And doc page is not convenient to alter and use.

Website is a tool to communicate with others just like the notice board.We can find the information we want through the website.We need to plan the site with a storyboard ahead of time because we need prepare for the website and design it to make it easy for othrs to watch.

During the process of  designing the web page,I could not put the white broad on the web page  so I ask for my classmates and they taught me . At last, I achieve the success.

This project helped me meet the standard which cann promote and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital age communication tools.Beacuse the process let our item become more united and we all learned a lot of digital communication from doing the project.

Day 3

My experience with class management software: classdojoclassdj

Classdojo is a free online software which provides for teachers and students.In this software, parents can learn about their children’s conditions in school and communicate with teachers on time.And classdojo can corrently  lead parents to teach children at home.

In the class,we found classdojo hat other useful functions and we explored some of it.Teachers and parents can communicate through this software.Teachers also can publish the notices to the parents at the same time in the classdojo.In this way,parents can get the messages on time.Classdojo has many interesting functions.

From the project, I learned that classdojo is so wonderful that can build the bridge between teachers,students and their parents. And the ways to use classdojo is very convenient that can play on iPads,iPhones and so on.The behavior of each student also can be shown on the software.

Classdojo is very useful and effective to the class teaching since it can reduce the work of teachers that they can put much more time on the meaning things and share more behaviors of children to thier parents.Many beaviors in the software can be recorded and students may be behave better to get higher score.I will use the classdojo to send the schedule and behavior to their parents every day in order to let them learn more about their children.

One of the ISTE standards includes inspiring children’s creativty and learning.In this environment ,students can take part  in the class and their learning and social ability could be improved.They will find ways to solve the problems since they know if they make the efforts,they will get the good results.For example, one day,a boy hehaved very well then his teacher send to his parents.When he go home,his parents raised him for his good behavior in the school.Then he found he could get more if he work hard.

Integrating electronic white board in classroom teaching

Padlet is a online white broad where we can post we want share like photos ,mentions and so on.And the introduction we made also can cause others’ interests.

We can share something we want share on this online broad and decorate it.Some people whoever youknow or not can read the broad you wrote.

When the padlet is in the class,I think it will be more convenient to collect the parents’ideas and gather them.

If we use the padlet in many areas,we could get more comprehensive imformation and message.In ISTE standards,we can promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility.From this online broad,we can timely check the message on it.Maybe we will have many new experience.

Day 2

My understanding on the flipped classroom

In this morning, we talked about what the flipped classroom is and how it can apply to our study.Some examples showed that how did teachers use the flipped classroom to teach.The flipped classroom is a new teaching model that instead of the old teaching model which need explain the knowledge to students for a long time.And students can reflect what they learned in the class timely.

As a college student,I also want my professor to use this method to teach .If we didn’t attend the last lesson,we can use the resources professors used in the class to improve the understanding of knowlegde.And I think this teaching model can let students take active part in the class and works.

If I teach a class, I will also use the flipped classroom into my teaching courses since it has a lot of advantages .All of my students can get personalized teaching ways and they can adjust by themselves.In this way, the quality of the class will also be improved.

Working experiences on creating a lesson plan with the flipped classroom teaching model

In the flipped classroom, students can get the knowledge points from the teachers gave. Then they can adjust and contrl their learning progress. Students can make interactions with classmates and teachers timely to solve the problems. They will aim at really understanding the content of the class instead of only completing the instructions the teach gave.

However,the flipped classroom has its own disadvantages.Although some of the students can adapt the rhythm of the class,some part of the students cannot arrange the courses reasonably.

From the flipped classroom,I learned that we can let the couses become interesting activities and learn the learning methods from the project.

My experiences on working on the survey

In the class, every teams were asked to make a survey to show the understanding of the knowledge and skills we knew. And we need put forward ten questions and our project was about geography. At first, we didn’t work out the suitable questions.But we get more and more skills during the process.

About Me and Ed326

My Chinese name is Yiyun Zhou and my English name is Zoey. I come from Putuo District in Shanghai. I always use some social medias such as Wechat, Weibo to connect with my family and friends  and also share some daily life with others. And I am accustomed to watching some TV series on my video apps. I’m also keen on doing exercise in my spare time.

 Today we had an English class on computer with Dr. Wang and we took six hours about learning Blog. In the class, Dr. Wang told us some knowledge about learning and we learned some skills and become more aware of some forms on learning. Almost of us logged in it in class and create something distinctive in our Blogs. I discussed some directions with my classmates and some functions in Blog we thought very interesting and fresh. Then Dr. Wang let us  to organize a team to complete the works she would arrange. After we watching the videos about children’s teaching in foreign countries, I realized how to teach the children more vividly and effectively.

As a preschool teacher in the future,we should treat study seriously. Sometimes we may regard something is very easy to get. Conversely, we always need to pay more effort. There is no doubt that the fruits turns on our efforts.
